Los Merengues winger Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to supporters for his response when taken off in the recent heated Clasico clash victory.

He was taken off in the 72nd min and expressed his frustration by going straight off the pitch.

Vinicius subsequently came back to the sidelines and, following his club's narrow triumph, tried to confront Barça's opposing player during contentious final whistle scenes.

"This day I want to say sorry to all the supporters for my response when I was substituted in the derby," the player shared on his account.

"Similarly to I have previously expressed during today's training, I wish to say sorry once more to my colleagues, the organization, and the club president.

"At times emotion takes over me because I continuously aim to triumph and help my club. My competitive character originates in the affection I have for this institution and everything it represents."

The player joined Real from his former club in 2018 for millions and has scored over a century of strikes in more than 300 games.

But his career in the Spanish capital is uncertain with speculation in lately stating that Los Blancos would think about permitting the 25-year-old leave if they were to receive a suitable offer.

When Vinicius was taken off on the match day, broadcast footage from broadcaster Dazn captured him saying: "Again me! I'm departing the side! It's better if I go, I'm moving on."

In his most recent post on X, Vinicius said: "I promise to keep fighting every second for the benefit of Real Madrid, as I have performed since the first day."
